More about us
1959 on the banks of the Au Sable River, George Griffith and a group of anglers created an organization dedicated to conserve, protect and restore North America’s coldwater fisheries and their watersheds. This is what we stand for. This is Trout Unlimited!

The Philosophy of Trout Unlimited, “It’s fishing for the sport rather than for food, where the true enjoyment of the sport lies in the challenge, the lore and the battle of wits, not necessarily the full creel. It’s the feeling of satisfaction that comes from limiting your kill instead of killing your limit. It’s communing with nature where the chief reward is a refreshed body and a contented soul, where a license is a permit to use, not abuse … to enjoy, not destroy our trout waters. It’s subscribing to the proposition that what’s good for trout is good for trout fishermen, and that managing trout for the trout rather than for the trout fisherman is fundamental to the solution of our trout problems. It’s appreciating our trout, respecting fellow anglers and giving serious thought to tomorrow. ”The Ann Arbor Area Chapter of Trout Unlimited welcomes you to view our website and Newsletter.  Feel free to contact us; information on how that can be done is included on this site. Explore the entire site and you will find that there is something for everyone. Tell us how you like it and make suggestions on how we can improve our services to you.
